Great New Free Web Resource: Check Who Has Access To Your Data
Do you know who has access to your profiles/data via these platforms? Can you remember who you granted permission to?
A new free web resource called “mypermissions.org” gives you access to the various appropriate permissions pages for most of these popular platforms so you can check and manage who has access to your information.
I just tried it and found a few apps that I never use still have access to all of my data in Facebook from back in the day when I wasn’t so savvy about these permissions. So it has been very useful to go through and click some ‘X’ ‘s for these old unused apps.
Give it a try for yourself and you might be surprised how much access to your data you’re giving away – it is at least worth checking, especially if you are relatively active online.
I’ll be adding this tool to our list of free web resources here: Free Web Resources
I’d like to thank Ana Hoffman of Traffic Generation Cafe for kindly sharing this tip. Thanks Ana!
So give it a try and let us know what you think!! Even better if you know of any more free apps like this one, please let us know in the comments below and we’ll add them to our list.
This is very useful tool. I am a big fan of all social networks (all ways of communication) and having more data about “my profile security” will be definitely a better idea:)
Great! I am so glad this was of help. I am going to be adding lots more like this soon. We already have a free resources section but it was too static so I’ll be making a short post (like this one) when we find something we think is useful.
Thanks so much for leaving a comment Anna, it really helps too get this kind of feedback,
take care & best wishes,
Alan
That’s a really cool resource. There’s so much web stuff to keep track of and I often forget everything I’ve given information to. Thanks for sharing such a great tool.
Tell me about it! I got a bit of a shock when I checked mine – how about you?
There are so many great & often high quality free tools on the net these days so we’re gonna share them all here as we discover them 😉 (but just the really cool ones)
