The Life’s Too Good Playlist — 20 Comments

  1. Hey Alan,

I hate to boast, but I can pick a great song! Who can resist Louis Armstrong? 🙂

That song has a special place in my heart and reminds me of someone that was very dear to me. He is gone now but I can always remember him when I hear this. Thanks!

    • I hate to boast

      yeah yeah…

      😉

OK, OK good choice (I just listened to it again).

I find this video in particular particularly touching, it really moves me – I can only imagine how touching that is when it reminds you of a loved one that is no longer around. I don’t have that added meaning – though strangely I feel both happy and sad every time I hear it.

  2. Hi Alan,
I just listened to them today so my ‘quick vote’ would be Caledonia. New song for me – quite catchy. Might change my mind as I listen to them more…. Honorable mention for Dancing in the Moonlight ! Hadn’t listened to that song in years so it was very enjoyable !
    Thanks !
    Adrienne

    • Hmmm.

I’m wondering whether I should take your vote now then or wait to see if you change your mind.

Do you want more time or should we go for Caledonia then?

      😉

      • Fascinating. I’m the one who voted for #7. The first time I clicked on the video it was an awful video to a remix of the song, the second time it was a picture with the original (fantastic) track. I was going to suggest instead the version of the awful video that goes along with the original track:
        http://youtu.be/zKoZ7e0KQ7g
But the non-moving picture is better (no awful lipsyncing by models that probably can’t hold a tune), though I prefer the non-moving picture video w the Empire State Building in it 🙂

        • I have to admit I did find the first vid I found a little overly ‘sexy’ – but there doesn’t seem to be much choice.

So when you say ‘going to suggest…’ in the end you’re saying I should leave it as it is, right?

  3. I’ll cast my vote for Louie’s Wonderful World. Even tho it usually makes me cry because I remember its use in “Good Morning Vietnam.”

  4. Above Website, really wanted to own right to the name and it will be a Work in progress- started by someone else’s intent, but didn’t work out so its validation is accurate I hope to make it a true place of healing one day 😉 just as the name states….

I love this and can’t wait to go through all the songs, so many I don’t think I know! I have to say…..while #24 is my choice for that time and moment, #10 has a huge chapter of my life! 😉 and by just reading through it, it made me remember how much I believe in myself anyway being bound to the walks of my house 99.9% of the time a lot of my sadness could be healed if I listened to music as much as I used too! I love every type and believe it powerfully has windows into our souls 😉 and is healing on all levels of emotion!! I could not live w/I music when I was well and now I live without just about everything I loved and most importantly me! Thank You for this article and experiment it has opened so many thoughts, ideas – can’t wait for what’s next!! 😉 Merry Christmas to all! God bless!!!
