Business Efficiency: 100 Management Models & When to Use Them

As I described in the ‘100 Management Models…‘ post, a model applied correctly can be a very powerful tool indeed

Just to clarify, I’m talking about models which can be used in different aspects of business life, not business revenue models (e.g. Facebook selling ads or Macdonalds being a franchise). I’m talking about things like SWOT Analysis (you must have heard of that), Porters 5 Forces & The Boston Grid (that’s not a telephone exchange by the way, it’s a management model).

This section is all about explaining those models and their application in sufficient detail that they become very familiar and useful friends who you can call upon when needed to give you much greater efficiency from knowing that they exist, what they are for and how to use them.

In the right hands these models will make a huge difference when used in the right situation. In the same way as a builder, electrician or mechanic knows exactly which tools to use for which task in their professions, an experienced business consultant should have a similar ‘toolbox’ of management models/tools.
