Websites – 365 REALLY Useful Websites You Just Gotta Check Out — 39 Comments

  1. Hi Alan,

I wanted to share Dealspotr with you as an additional site where shoppers can find deals and promo codes. Something that makes Dealspotr neat is that we have a whole community of 200,000 deal experts working each day to keep our database of promo codes accurate.

You know how you’ll sometimes try to use a promo code when shopping online, and it doesn’t work? That won’t happen with a code from Dealspotr.

I think Deaslpotr would make a great addition to your list.

    Here’s a link to our site: https://dealspotr.com/

  2. Hi Alan, Loved this huge list of sites!
Great variety, something in there for everyone.
    I’d love to suggest https://surveyanyplace.com.

It’s a questionnaire builder that allows you to make little standard surveys and quizzes. But really interactive pieces of content like assessments, decision trees and voting sessions as well.

Thought it might make a nice addition to the already awesome list.

    Best,
    Sofie

    • Hi Sofie,

many thanks for the comment. Your site looks pretty good to me. I’ll take a closer look & if any of the sites in the list stop working for any reason, might be able to find a slot for your site on the list.

In the meantime, happy to have it here in the comments,

      best wishes,
      Alan

    • OK Sofie,

it may have taken a little while but you’re in!! In spot #81 which is actually today’s spot – you are today’s website (Mar 22). This is because I just checked and the previous site for today is no more, so as promised, I have added your site.

You may still have a few hours left to promote this as today’s site, sorry I didn’t spot that and add you sooner/give you more notice – in any case, you are now on the list,

      best wishes,
      Alan

  3. Hi Alan,

Great list. Just one suggestion, can you please make the hyperlinks to open in a separate tab, so that it would be easy to check all the websites easily?

  4. Hi,

I love words like Schadenfreude, just reading the attempted description of what means brings back vivid images of when it occurred in your own life.
The Author of this site and books has taken it to the extreme making up words that describe to archetypical situations for which we have no single word in english.

  5. Hi,

The ‘https://www.hidemyass.com’, interesting name, but it is for purchasing a VPN like for example VPNExpress.
I suppose it gives an explanation and raises awareness that such a service is available.

Also, notice that I did not split the words out!

I must agree that stack exchange and IMDB I use so heavily, I take their existence for granted!
Talking about goto sites, Wikipedia.org is not on your list?

    Regards

    • wikipedia – too well known.

the idea was to come up with a list of 365 sites that people may not know about (therefore offering value) also avoiding social media sites even the obscure ones.

Now that is a challenge (started getting tough when I got to around 200 – then writing them all up ;-))

  6. That’s a really useful compilation of websites. TBH there are sites there providing services that I didn’t even know I was missing on but now definitely need to try. That’s my next year sorted. Thanks!!!

    • Awesome Saurabh,

really glad you like the list. Yep, me too when I started trying to make up the numbers (hopefully without any padding – they’re all interesting sites) I learned a few things.

Mailinator and Rasternator are both pretty cool.

in fact anything that ends in ator is off to a good start.

    • lol – deliberately – I missed off all social media sites – would have been too easy and people already know these.

thanks for the comment though 😉
