Mindfulness, The Wandering Mind & The Power of Now — 4 Comments

  1. Thanks for that post, I really enjoyed reading and my kids loved the cat being more dog add!
That aside, your post could not have come at a better time, as I begin to try and focus yet still my mind constantly wanders in all directions!
I am looking forward to reading “wherever you go there you are” providing of course I can sit still and read without my mind wondering what else I should be reading!
Mindfulness is top of my list habit which I hope to master this year.

    • Glad to hear it.

Timing is everything, as they say.

Well, actually, Eckhart Tolle wouldn’t say that would he – more like time is a myth.

Anyways, I can’t think of a better thing to put top of your list.

Thanks for your comment Raquel & keep me posted…

  2. I read that book several years ago – that’s where I started thinking about living in the now and the present. It’s an interesting book, but it does get a little repetitive towards the end. It’s still good, nonetheless.

Yeah, staying in the now can be tricky. I started doing it right after I read that book and it was difficult at first. Eventually I made it a habit. I would just pull myself back into the now whenever I started to find my mind wandering elsewhere. Now it’s mostly habit to be present. But still, I do find my mind wanders from time to time. I think it’s just a matter of getting into the habit and sticking with it. At least that’s what I’ve found.

    • Did you find it a little too spiritual?

I’d guess you’re about as spiritual as I am, but not sure.

Anyways, good to hear you’ve managed to make being present a habit – you’re probably further with it than me but I find the same & agree with you – I find that life is much better when I manage to spend more (thinking) time in the here & now.
